On Tuesday, local DJ Mark Pilgrim and his wife Nicole became the proud parents of a second daughter.

Mark announced the birth of  Alyssa Stella Pilgrim on his personal blog on Wednesday, saying: ”Yesterday at 3pm, my second little angel came into the world, weighing in at 3.08kg!”

He was pleased to report that Alyssa is “healthy and strong and looks a little like mum”.

Mark, who overcame testicular cancer after a prolonged battle with the disease, said he was delighted that his remaining testicle was such a high-achiever.

“It’s great to know that after having testicular cancer and the statistics were against us having even one child naturally, I’m living proof that one ball does indeed work just as well as two!”

Mark and Nicole were married in Mauritius on 7 July 2007. Their first child, Tayla-Jean, was born in April 2010.
