Where most concepts for local music videos follow a similar trend, Pilot Films tried something very different for the new JR Muntu music video featuring Nokwazi. Pilot Films went against the grain by developing a unique concept not yet seen in the local music video arena. The creative team worked alongside QuiteFranckly whose focus was to produce an artistic representation of the meaning of the word Muntu (person).

JR, the person, takes on many different abstract forms throughout the video. The simplistic idea of having only JR and Nokwazi feature in the video made pre-production a challenge in terms of keeping viewers stimulated for three and a half minutes. Yet, for the Muntu treatment, the directors of the video, Bruce Patterson and Grant Franck, had a clear vision from the onset, and that vision was to turn heads by creating a unique form of art that hasn’t been seen before.

The music video premiered on Wednesday the 13th of December and has received rave reviews with unique YouTube hits exceeding 12,000 views in under two days.
