Lira was given reason to feel good recently after she heard that she’d been nominated for a BET (Black Entertainment Television) award in the Best International Act in Africa category.
Channel24 reports that the 33 year-old zaleb will be competing against artists from other African countries including Wizkid from Nigeria, Camp Mulla from Kenya and Sarkodie from Ghana.
The BET Awards, created by the by the Black Entertainment Television network in 2001, celebrate the achievements of African Americans and other minorities in various fields of entertainment.
The 2012 BET Awards will take place on 1 July at Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium.
