Following the success of last year’s supporting bill competition and to continue their support of South African musicians and the local music industry, Canoc Productions founder and Managing Director, Phala Letsoalo announced the Chris Brown Carpe Diem SA Tour supporting act competition.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for local musicians and bands to perform at one of the forthcoming Chris Brown concerts. Concerts will be staged at the Coca Cola Dome, Johannesburg on 15 December; People’s Park, Moses Mabhida Stadium, Durban on 17 December or GrandWest, Cape Town on 19th or 20th December. “We encourage musicians to enter this unique competition which is also the perfect platform to showcase their talents.” says Letsoalo.
To stand a chance at being selected to perform at one of these concerts, artists need to create a profile via a Facebook based application then upload their content – video, songs and pictures and share it with their fans using social networks. Artists can only enter to perform at one venue. Fans would need to view artist profiles on the site and vote for the artist of their choice to perform at a particular concert. Each fan is entitled to one vote per artist, using their Facebook profile. The more votes an artist accumulates the better a chance they stand to win to perform at their chosen concert venue. The winners are chosen relative to the number of votes they acquire. The artist with the most votes in each city wins the honour of performing on the supporting bill act of a Chris Brown concert. As part of the terms and conditions of the competition the winning musicians are still subject to artist management approval. You could be performing on the very same stage where mega artist, Chris Brown played to thousands of South African fans.
