Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, best known as AKA, recently shocked his followers when he went online to unveil his new look. The rapper has always been considered fresh and stylish, so his looks are exciting and inspiring… except for this new one.
He has always rocked long hair, but most of the time, he either pulls it back in a bun, or braids it. In the recent video, though, it seems like he is trying out something new. The rapper has decided to let his hair down, literally. He had it combed out and falling by his face in a slick bob. Have a look.
Unfortunately for him, the reception of this transformation has not been what he probably hoped it would be. Fans have taken to social media to troll him for the look. Many tweeps think that it is too effeminate for him. To fuel this opinion, the sound he used and his facial reactions in the video have also made him a target. Looking at the video, fans see him putting on a duck face, which, as one pointed out, is used mainly by ladies in selfies.

“I love a supportive baby daddy... this must be from Hair Majesty!! 😄😂” one wrote. Hair Majesty is the Peruvian Lace Wig brand owned by DJ Zinhle, with whom AKA shares a daughter - Kairo Forbes. Another fan dragged Nadia Nakai into the whole thing, suggesting that she was turning him soft and effeminate. The two rappers have been thought to be in a relationship following pictures of them looking cute together.

One fan suggested that the feminine look was the rapper’s attempt to jump onto the hype surrounding female DJs in the country right now. This is an ironic suggestion, as AKA just recently threw shade at female DJs. In an Instagram story, he said that now every female was trying to be a DJ, which was obviously shade at the new crop of female DJs.

In fact, many saw it as a direct hit at Uncle Waffles, the country’s latest viral sensation. The dig did not have any visible effect on the young dancing DJ, and she is currently living it up, traveling Africa on tour. We love it for this “hunny”, and yes, it would be very ironic if AKA is indeed trying to hop onto that train. I guess “if you can’t beat them, join them”, right?

Aside from the “interesting” hair choice, Super Mega has been making big moves of late. He recently had a huge concert in Zambia, where he utterly killed it, in his usual manner. On a sweeter note, he also rekindled his friendship with his ex and baby mama, DJ Zinhle. Although many tweeps thought that it would only mean trouble for DJ Zinhle’s relationship with Murdah Bongz, we think it is sweet that they are supporting each other as friends and co-parents.

The rapper is yet to respond to the trolling, but it is unlikely that he will. He is just too busy chasing the bag, and frankly, get it, King!
