A woman who goes by the name, Amanda Phakathi recently took to social media to vent about ill-treatment and the hands of the crew of the eTV production, Imbewu.
The drama, set in and around KwaZulu-Natal, with a storyline that spans from the most-affluent parts of Umlazi to the humblest street in eNquthu and the township of Chatsworth, debuted this month on eTV, starring Leleti Khumalo who is also the show’s executive producer.
Phakhati posted her frustrations on both the show’s official page and director, Duma ka Ndlovu’s Facebook page.
Ndlovu then responded to Phakathi asking her to contact him via email in order to resolve the matter.
Ndlovu’s Word Of Mouth Pictures will be working with Anant Singh’s Videovision Entertainment to produce the show.
Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela reach out to eTV and they had this to say:

It even sparked a conversation about the treatment of extras on set.
It’s really common. Crew and cast take their chances with extras. Worked on a set where an actor had sex with an extra on one of the studio beds – it was an open secret no one addressed. https://t.co/TbkyJMr88Y
