Babes Wodumo is breathing much, much easier now after learning that charges that she was facing in court have just been dropped. The hitmaker, along with her sister and fellow artist Tipcee, had been facing common assault charges after being accused of getting physical with a woman by the name of Nelisiwe Zulu but on Thursday afternoon, those charges were dropped.

This court case has dragged on for the past three months and we're certain the Gqom queen will be feeling like a huge weight has been taken off her shoulders. The three of them arrived briefly to the Durban Magistrate's Court where the prosecutor informed the magistrate that the entire case had been resolved behind the scenes. With no further charges to account to, Babes was free to go. This is a far cry from when she was nearly arrested earlier last month.

Natasha Kara of the NPA confirmed the news in a brief conversation with Tshisa Live where she said:

"The matter or the charges against the accused were withdrawn. This is because the complainant and accused have come to some sort of resolution through ADR."

Meanwhile, upon hearing that she was free to go, Babes Wodumo  took to the streets to dance with delight. Take a look below:

Life appears to be a little calmer for Babes Wodumo these days, considering where we were three months ago but one can't help but worry that this won't be the only time that she makes controversial headlines this year.

Babes is currently part of the Bonnie and Clyde tour with her much-maligned boyfriend and/or business partner, Mampintsha. While she insists that the two are no longer together (even going as far as suggesting she has another crush) their frequent appearances and working partnership have got the country confused.

Do you think Babes will finally be able to stay out of trouble?
