Carol Bouwer is one of South Africa's most loved media personalities. The star started her career as an actress more than 20 years ago and she became a household name when she bagged the role of Kgomotso on SABC 1's Generations.

Since her first stint on the show, she has managed to branch out of acting and into business and producing. The beauty recently took to Instagram to share her gratitude for the men and women who risked their lives to extinguish the fire that caused havoc in her neighbourhood:
"We thank the men and women who stayed after we were evacuated to fight for that which belongs to all of us! Not just the properties but the memories that reside in our homes. Hubby left me in the hotel to go survey the damage at the house only to find the helicopters still transporting water to extinguish the fires and all these dedicated fire fighters giving their all for us! I pray for your blessings to multiply as your is not a job but a calling 🙏🏽 baie dankie, siyabonga, siyabulela, re a leboga... a heartfelt and very deeply sincere thank you."
