A lot of people have been wondering why Cassper Nyovest’s Refiloe album didn’t get any love from the South African Music Awards?
The nominees for the 22nd annual SAMAs nominees were announced on Thursday morning in Soweto, Johannesburg, and people like Nathi Mankayi, Zahara, and Riky Rick received a few nods.
However, Cassper, who released his Refiloe album in 2015, didn’t feature in any of the usual categories like Best Male and Best Hip Hop Artist. His name appears in the Best Collaboration category for Slyza Tsotsi. Several fans took to social media to ask why the rapper was snubbed.
He explained in a tweet:
Thanks for all the love.. pls note we deliberately did NOT submit for these awards. I’ll explain it all through my music. Stay blessed 😉
