In 2016 the Generations actor was involved in a near-fatal car accident in Diepsloot. Two people died and four others sustained injuries when two cars collided.
In past tweets Rapulana shared that the accident nearly destroyed him:
“It was something that could have destroyed me, but I drew hope and inspiration from all of you,” he said in a series of tweets.
Rapulana thanked his family, friends, and fans for their support.
“I am well on the road to recovery; a recovery that would not have been possible without the thoughts and prayers of so many of you: my supporters, family and friends. I would like to thank you all from the bottom of my heart.”
We later learned that the accident was a hijack attempt.
In 1999, whilst arriving home from work It was reported that twenty-four to twenty-six shotgun pellets were fired at Florence Masebe's car, she sustained injuries in her arm and leg.
At the time an article was published on IOL claiming that a 22-year-old man (at the time) had been offered R70,000 a car and a house to kill actors of the soapie. Hectic!
In December 2017, Tumi and her family were involved in a serious car accident near Sun City. Ten passengers sustained injuries in the accident but thankfully no one was seriously hurt or even died.
