DJ Maphorisa's ‘Nay’ le walks’ remake has upset Durban-born musician, Thandeka TDK Macassette' Mkhwanazi and she's accusing the producer of stealing the song.
The song first featured TDK Macassette, then the second version featured Moonchild Sanelly, K.O and Zulu Makhathini.
TDK Macassette was first discovered by DJ Maphorisa after being booked for a corporate gig back in 2016, and as she attempts to wage a war against the producer, Maphorisa says he could not be bothered.
Speaking to news24, Maphorisa said,“The world is so crazy. I gave her an opportunity and now she is acting like she is the biggest thing...she can take me to court if she wants to. Where is the proof that the song is actually hers? I’ve put everything out there on social media proving that the song is indeed mine, that’s all.”
Last month, the two artists went back and forth on social media but TDK is adamant that their relationship is still intact and she has no hard feeling towards Maphorisa: "I was very surprised when Moonchild did the remix. The second never really worried me because everyone knows the first version. Maphorisa can’t even make a Gqom beat. How can he make a Gqom song?...as for my relationship with DJMaphorisa, I have no hard feelings,” said TDK Macassette.
