DJ Zinhle has inspired and empowered hundreds of young women this week after giving her first-ever Ted Talk.

The DJ, entrepreneur, and mother-of-one spoke with wisdom and insight at a recently concluded Ted X event that was held at UJ's APK campus and powered by Kotex. The sanitary towel providers have been on a nationwide campus tour and they touched down in Soweto for a series of inspiring talks this week and who else could motivate the next generation of women like DJ Zinhle?

The theme of the discussions was #ITotallyCan and DJ Zinhle spoke at great lengths about her experiences as one of the only female DJs in South Africa, before delving into how she expanded her brand beyond the world of music and started Era Watches. She ended her talk with a glimpse of the future including some information about how she is now putting a stamp on the furniture world.

One of the key takeaways from her talk came when she offered the advice, “Practice your craft all the time and stay ready”  - words that were well received by the onlooking students on the day.

The Kotex team was thrilled to have DJ Zinhle on their podium; they beamed on Facebook, "What an inspiring talk by the beautiful, empowering DJ ZINHLE and Ndoni Mcunu! To every girl out there, believe in yourself, know your worth and be patient with yourself!"

The positivity that DJ Zinhle inspired was evident for all to see on the timeline. Dozens of her student fans walked away from her talk inspired and they wrote:
