The vocalist was scheduled to perform on the 28th of September at the Jozi FM Gospel Music Festival in Soweto but has had to cancel her performance because of ongoing contractual issues with her record label.

According to the Sowetan,  Nzimande, owner of Zuz'muzi Records (To whom Mlomo is signed) has sent a formal request to platforms, venues and managers, including Jozi FM. The statement requested that they not book Fikile for any performances or appearances in light of recent contractual problems.

A source revealed to the Sowetan that the Nzimande indicates in the letter that Fikile can only perform when the matter has been resolved.

Jozi FM director Mpho Mhlongo confirmed that Nzimande sent them a letter: "He said he was requesting the station not to book her because they had unresolved contractual issues with the artist.

"As a station, we have decided to respect the company's wish. We don't have a problem with Fikile and when the issue is sorted, she will become part of the festival."

Nzimande, who created gospel stars like Sifiso Ncwane and Lundi, said Mlomo was "playing a dirty game". He said he had been made aware that she had been performing without the label's consent.

"Fikile knows that she is still contracted to us, and anyone who wants to use her will have to talk to us," said the music producer. "We are not hogging her. If she wants to go, someone will have to buy her out of my company's contract."
