Following a statement released by her agency, Gail Mabalane, the actress who was playing a sex worker named Vicky, has left South African telenovela, Rockville. The actress cited other commitments as reason for not being available for the second instalment of the show.
“Due to other commitments that are more feasible at this point of her career, Gail is not able to commit to Season 2 of Rockville as well,” a statement from her agency said.
There have been rumours that her kwaito star husband, Kabelo Mabalane, is the reason she decided against returning to the show however Gail has denied the rumours; saying Kabelo was not the reason for her departure.
“Gail’s husband is in fact, her biggest cheerleader and they both have a lot of respect for one another’s crafts, supporting all roles and decisions each one takes,” her agency said.
Gail assured fans of the show that there was bad blood that would cause her to leave.
She said that she had good relationship with the cast.
