It’s always great to hear when a local artist’s album reaches that elusive gold mark; it’s even more impressive when it’s actually their debut album that has helped them reach that golden goal. One artist who has managed to achieve that goal is Kalawa Jazzmee’s youngest producer Heavy K who released his debut album “Respect The Drumboss” last year.
With hit singles like Wena featuring Mpumi which catapulted to the top of the charts and caught even more hype on Big Brother Mzansi it comes as no surprise that Heavy K has managed to sell 20 000 units and still counting. The success of his debut album has not only helped receive a nomination for Record of the Year at the SAMA’s as well as scooping the Best Dance Album statuette at the 2014 Metro FM Awards.
With all these accolades, 2014 has proven to be a year of dominance for the talented producer and there’s no doubt that this monumental milestone is well deserved, but then again when you’re under the guidance of Kalawa Jazzmee success is all you'll become accustomed to.
