Thapelo said he is motivating other artists to find other ways to make a living, other than depending on their music money.

“It’s a motivation for the people in the music industry to say, let’s try other ways of getting money because it’s difficult to get it right every time in the music space,” he said. “It’s better if you have a side hustle where you know you have other money coming in…Don’t be shy with your side hustle,” he said.

He also sells atchaar with those eggs, “Sell those perfumes or chickens…Sell whatever you can! [My business] is going extremely well,” he told the publication.

Thapelo said apart from being a musician, he is also a counsellor, “The very same business that people might laugh at is giving me money…I work as both a counsellor and a musician, and I am managing well…Time management and being focused are my things."

Thapelo also added that he is making a profit and that people who are laughing, are laughing at something profitable.

“It was the hardest thing having to be separated from her, I just became a father and then had to leave for this whirlwind adventure, I did it for her, I wanted to achieve this dream for her," he told the publication.

He added, “I am single, I love my daughter and the baby mama, we are co-parenting. We have a very good understanding and communication system in place, we are doing good.”
