SA's best presenter set to take over from Minnie Dlamini

It's been less than two months since the seventh season of Tropika Island of Treasure wrapped and Anga 'NaaKMusiq' Makubalo walked away with the R1 Million grand prize and preparation for season 8 are already underway.

There are three main changes for the upcoming season that have piqued out interest.

Firstly, contestants will be headed to the Maldives for season 8. The show also has a new mystery host who will be taking over from Minnie Dlamini-Jones.

It wouldn't be Tropika without a competition of some sort and this season, they will be giving away golden tickets to a select few who correctly guess the name of the new TIOT presenter.

These golden tickets will fast track whoever gets them to the audition phase of casting for #TIOT8 but that does not guarantee you will get cast - you'd have to bring your winning personality for that. The competition will run from 31 August 2017 until 13 September 2017 at 4pm and T's & C's apply.

The first clue was posted earlier today and we have to say, they're not even making this hard.

At first, we thought... "okay, there are two Katlego's (even though one of them has an 'h' instead of a 'g' in his name) so who could it be?"

But the fact that the SAFTA winner for the 'Most Popular TV Presenter' two-years-running recently returned from a trip to the Maldives makes it pretty obvious that Maboe will be taking over from Minnie as host of Tropika Island of Treasure.

Now all that remains to be seen is whether or not Jonathan Boynton-Lee will be returning as games master as well as who this season's celebrity contestants will be.
