Mzansi's biggest singing competition Idols SA is shaking things up for its newest season 18 to commence mid-year. The controversial and talked about reality TV star, singer and media personality Kelly Khumalo have scored big time by joining this singing competition as a resident judge. Khumalo who have sat at a guest judge in previous seasons will now finally get her bigger piece of the pie.

In a shocking turn of events, after 17 seasons of this show airing. It appears that resident judges Randall Abrahams and Unathi Nkayi have been booted from this singing show. This comes after the show finally cut ties with an in-house PR services and rather roped in services of PR agency Duma Collective. According to City Press, in a statement the channel said,

"Mzansi Magic is revamping the judging panel for season 18 of Idols SA. The channel will not be renewing Randall Abrahams’ and Unathi Nkayi’s contracts for the upcoming season of the popular singing show."

It appears Somizi 'Somgaga' Mhlongo may have the last laugh as there are talks that he might claiming his seat on the show. Following his abrupt hiatus last year due to the abuse allegations levelled against him by his now ex husband Mohale Motaung. In an audio leaked on social media, Motaung outlined how his then husband Mhlongo was unfaithful and mischievous within their marriage and union.

Motaung continued to say Mhlongo was also abusive and at one point he pointed at him with a knife. It was also revealed by Motaung that Mhlongo was very controlling of him and jealous of him making friends and acquaintances in the entertainment industry. Motaung went to add that Mhlongo even blackballed him from getting jobs in the industry.

Although unclear but Mhlongo's return to Idoals Sa season 18 may be the reason why Abrahams and Nkayi have exited the show. There seems to have been bad blood between Mhlongo and Nkayi since Mhlongo left the show. The even even went on to unfollow each other on social media. Abrahams who has been a judge on the show for 17 years and Nkayi for 10 years, the pair is definitely confirmed not to be returning to the show. The new PR services the show has hired its services 'PR Agency Duma Collective' is the same PR agency that is representing Mhlongo.
