Being a woman in South Africa has always been dangerous and now with social media, it seems like it is a whole lot worse.
On Tuesday, Khabonina was assaulted when she was heading out from a shoot with a friend. The star who was in a state of shock took to Twitter to share her ordeal.
We (two females) were just assaulted on our way driving back from shoot by a group of men ! Happened About an hour ago…still in shock!😰Yes I know crime is real in our country, but when something like THIS happens …it’s a RUDE AWAKENING of how REAL IT IS! Thank God we ok 🙏🏾

There’s been a spate of violent crimes towards women in the past few months and what’s worse is that when you think it can only happen out there in the world, there are also threats of violence in your personal confines. We’re glad that Khabonina is safe.
