It's official! KB Motsilanyane has been revealed as the star behind the upcoming Lebo Mathosa biopic

The news were confirmed in a tweet from Viacom Africa who head up BET Africa platform.

KB, who will be replacing Kelly Khumalo, will take on the lead role in Dream: The Lebo Mathosa Story, whilst Bahumi Madisakwane will play a young Lebo.

Speaking to the Daily Sun, KB said she was excited for the story to be told.

She said: “It’s not an easy journey to play this character, because it’s beyond imagination, larger than life and every single thing is a new experience.

“Walking in Lebo’s shoes is definitely one of the greatest things I have ever done.”

The six-part TV series will air on November 6 on BET, DStv channel 129.

Despite the excitement of a series about the late, great Boom Shaka star, the casting, however has garnered a lukewarm responses from fans.

Many tweeps are not convinced KB is the right person to fill Lebo's shoes:

Of course Ntsiki Mazwai had to weigh in too:

Bahumi has also faced her fair share of criticism over the role.

Can we just give them a fair chance before we completely dismiss the production?
