As South Africa reels from news of Linda ‘ProKid’ Mkhize’s death, the family has gone on record through two representatives to state that their son was not shot dead as stated on social media.
Twitter user, @Am_Blujay claimed to have been tweeting from the scene, stating that some of the witnesses who had arrived before he did had attributed the death to either chest problems or a shooting.
These claimes have been refuted in a statement issued on behalf of the Mkhize & Kheswa families, on the passing of their son, brother and father, Linda “ProKid” Mkhize (37).
According to the statement, Mkhize passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 after suffering a severe seizure whilst visiting friends. The rapper and producer was pronounced dead at approximately 20h38 after the paramedics who were called to the scene failed to revive him after trying their best.
He is survived by his beloved mother Fikile Mkhize, his father Zwelakhe Kheswa, his wife Ayanda, his brothers, extended family and his three-year-old daughter, Nonkanyezi.
ProKid’s family requests that the media respect their privacy during this tragic period. Further details will be released in due time.
