Sowetan Live reports have revealed that Gospel singer, Lundi was in hospital this past festive season at the Edenvale Hospital and Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital since December 6.
The singer is said to be diagnosed with liver complications and stomach tuberculosis.
His manager and close friend, Anele Hlazo revealed to the media that Lundi’s team will soon release a press statement about Lundi’s condition.
Lundi has shied from the public for a while now, the last time we recall Lundi making any public appearances was when he appeared on e.tv’s Rolling With back in 2015.
In the episode, Lundi spoke openly about his alcohol addiction and his quest to rise above it:
I used to drink for years. I would just change drinking spots until the media eventually caught onto my bad habit. I now attend Alcoholic Anonymous meetings to make me stronger and I stay informed to avoid a relapse.
It has always been my mother’s prayer, that before she dies, I would already have been off the bottle. I buried her, but I did not give her, her final wish,” said Lundi during his episode on Rolling With.
