News24 reported that Gigaba had opened a case at the police station in May and that it is an ongoing investigation.
This new piece of information was brought to light after his wife Norma Gigaba was arrested for damaging a G-Wagon, G63 AMG that did not belong to Malusi. The G-Wagon had been keyed, vandalised and the words "cheater" are written all over it.
The car belonged to Gigaba’s friend Peterson Siyaya who lent the car to Malusi.
Many have wondered why was the case handled by The Hawks and not the SAPS, well it turns out that there were bigger elements to the case including the alleged hit on Malusi.
Norma's belongings were seized in order to investigate whether she was involved in the hiring of hitmen to kill her husband.
"There was an element of threat to his life in the nature of the offence; we had to get involved and deal with it. We have done what we had to do. That case now will be referred to the SAPS detective for further investigation,"
Earlier today she appeared in court and her legal team had asked the court to postpone the matter to 14 September.
