Master KG bagged the award this past Sunday, and his victory has left many people questioning themselves as to why was the award bestowed upon him. Many social media fashion critics started questioning his style but the musician was very quick to address them.
Master KG who is seemingly unbothered by the hate took to Twitter to set the record straight on winning the award. The Jerusalema hitmaker said he won the award due to his achievement in the music industry, for making his mark and embracing people globally.
He further said he did not win the award in terms of how he dresses, hoping that people would understand what he is talking about.
"Myself winning an SA Style Award is an accolade for achievement in the music industry, for making my mark and embracing people globally .its not about how I Dress Hope People Understand," he wrote.
The awards were hosted by vivacious Television presenter Ayanda Thabethe, in Sandton and they were a star-studded affair, of course, celebrating the finest in the South African entertainment industry.
"Being a previous recipient of this prestigious award that not only highlights style but one’s career achievements and combined impact has definitely been a highlight in my own journey and I couldn’t be more proud to be the host of this year’s #SouthAfricanStyleAwards," she wrote on Instagram.
Some of the big winners from the night included Mzansi's rising stars Ama Qamata and Witney Ramabulana, who were named The Next Big Thing. Siya and Rachel Kolisi were named the Most Stylish Couple, the Most stylish performing artist in film or TV went to Sindi Dlathu, and Blue Mbombo was awarded for being the Most Stylish Model.
