Although he's secured a job on e.tv's Ashes to Ashes, Menzi Ngubane has to focus on other things - his health.
The former Generations actor, who underwent a kidney transplant in late 2014, told Daily Sun that the last six months have been hard on him.
He explained: "I spent two months in hospital and after that I was housebound for four more months. I was not allowed to even have visitors because the kidney was like a new baby that needed to be cared for."
He told the paper that the only person who was allowed to be with him was his fiancee.
Menzi said that during these months he was only focused on recovering and on the healing process.
He added: "I had to wear a mask so I didn’t get sick. It took a long time for my body to be strong again."
Speaking about his new acting gig, Menzi insisted that he's grateful just to be back in the game. "I’m going to be playing the role of Nkonzo Mazibuko in e.tv’s Ashes to Ashes. He's a dedicated cop who values his job."
He added: "I am going to concentrate on this new role. After that, I will start thinking about what to do next."
