This happens every year, really.

Every year, hip hop heads gather around their couches to watch one of the most impactful hip hop television shows in South Africa – The MTV Base Hottest MCs list.

With newcomers as Boity Thulo getting an honourable mention on the list, fans of hip hop culture have already casted their doubts regarding its credibility.
It is widely known that hip hop is an ego-driven kind of a sport, therefore, the number one spot is what most of our beloved rappers gun for.

Kwesta proved this after mentioning that it was quite "disrespectful" that AKA was sitting at number three.

The Ngud hitmaker concluded that the list is not about good music.
Part one of the episode was aired on Wednesday. While some rappers are happy to be even featured, others don't give a damn.

"The awards and the lists mean a lot in the beginning of ones career and I can imagine how Nadia feels when she’s robbed of some stuff but after a while of killing sh*t and getting the right money, that stuff stops mattering cause then we going for longevity instead of being HOT," wrote Cassper on Twitter.
