Nandi Madida responds to animal cruelty allegations

This year’s winter trend looks includes faux fur, but there are some people that have not yet gotten the memo and Nandi is not about to entertainment them.

We’ve seen many celebrities rock the faux fur trend but Nandi’s outfit from this year’s South African music awards caught the attention of an anti-fur page.

Jay Anstey went on to express her distaste to the allegations made against the media personality.

“Seriously guys…fur? Wtf is wrong with people. Vanity versus Integrity… ew.” she wrote on Twitter.

“Speaking to Tshisa Live, she said, ‘I am vegan and don’t believe in killing anything. I also think that vanity is just on another level these days. A lot people don’t talk about it because we don’t want to hurt people’s feelings, but at the end of the day, it is just a disgusting thing. It doesn’t even look good.”

In a recent interview with TshisaLIVE, Nandi cleared the air in response to the tweet saying that she had no interest in endorsing animal cruelty, and was dressed in faux fur.

“I don’t endorse animal cruelty. I don’t believe in it at all. I was styled by someone else and I don’t know but it didn’t feel like real fur. I don’t usually wear fur but I don’t think it was real at all. I think it was faux fur,” she said.
