Oscar Mbo
Oscar Mbo has been under a lot of scrutiny lately, and once again he finds himself under a microscope, standing accused of wearing fake designer clothes.
The DJ and podcaster was recently exposed on Twitter for allegedly wearing a fake Bottega Veneta t-shirt. He shared a photo on Instagram of himself in the t-shirt, obviously flaunting the brand, which is definitely meant as a flex to show fans that he can afford and regularly rocks expensive designer clothes.

But one social media user is apparently a little more petty than most, and took it upon themselves to authenticate this man’s outfit.
Screenshots shared by a popular entertainment blogger show an unnamed person contacting the brand’s customer care via email. They sent the photo that Oscar posted, and asked the brand whether they have the t-shirt in their collection.

The customer care responded, saying no, they do not have the item in their collection, which apparently proves that the t-shirt was fake. It is unclear who the person behind the email was and where the blogger got the screenshot, but the story blew up on Twitter either way.

For once, though, social media users were on Oscar’s side. They descended on the anonymous internet user who spared time out of their possibly busy day to check whether Osca’s shirt was genuine.

Fans do not understand what motive was behind the act, other than a desire to be petty and shame the DJ for no good reason. As it turns out, many on SA social media don’t even really care about the authenticity of brands, so they see the whole venture of trying so hard to expose and embarrass Oscar as rather childish and pointless, which was hilarious.
Have a look at some of the commenters who have dragged the “verifier” for filth.
Oscar has been under a lot of fire recently, especially after he was accused, multiple times, of being a scammer. Another DJ on Twitter went online to complain that he had booked Mbo for an event, only for him to be a no-show.

Worse still, he allegedly refused to refund the DJ’s money, and upon the latter's persistent effort to get a refund, Oscar went on to block his calls. He said even Oscar’s manager was snobbing his calls, leaving him frustrated and angry, forcing him to go venting on social media.
But Oscar completely mized the story, and acted like nothing had happened. To date, it is unclear whether they ever resolved the dispute, or the DJ is still frustrated. We sure hope it was all sorted out, though.
