Speaking to ZAlebs, Ryan Keys informs us about what he witnesses during the robbery at Hyde Park.
When we heard that the shopping centre was robbed, we contacted fashion designer Ryan Keys, who has a store in the centre.
Ryan Keys gave us the full low down of what took place on the morning of 13 April, 2017.
“I had left my store which is on the Lower level and to visit a shoe store on the first level.”
“People started running into the store screaming that there are people with guns. We ran to the back of the store as people were scrambling to get away from the gunmen. there were 6 gunmen, we heard the gunshots but I thought it was a table that had fallen, earlier”
Ryan told us that the gunmen were in the mall yesterday lingering around the mall.
“My client told me that she had seen the same men walking around the mall day earlier”
The gunmen then disappeared in two Porsche Cayenne SUVs
“Hyde Park security is great, but it all happened so quickly that once they got away they security could not activate the security gates in time. Which is probably better as then it could have been a hostage situation.”
“I’m just happy everyone is ok”
