It may be the start of a new decade, but for Sarah Langa, some things don't change
The influencer has quite the reputation for creating controversy out of her social media posts and this time around, even some local celebrities took her to task for it!
The beauty blogger posted an image of her latest fashion buy - a pair of designer shoes, which interestingly enough, have been popularly mass produced as counterfeits.
The Amina Muaddi Begum Glass Transparent sandals (at least the fake ones) have been spotted at shops around the country. The fakes are so popular that chances are you probably own a pair, or know of someone who does!
Sarah took to social media to post a pic of her original shoes with the caption; "The real ones".
Many followers took offence to her post and called Sarah out for her 'condescending' and 'mocking' tone
One fan wrote; "Just because you can afford designer clothes doesn't mean you have to look down on those that can't afford them."
Others fans were not fazed and vowed to continue wearing the fakes.
"We will still wear our fake ones and beautifully rock them sis...,"claimed one user, whilst another added; " Girls go ahead and wear what you can afford."
Some of the biggest ZAlebs also jumped into the comment section
Bonang simply responded "Rude" whilst an account belonging to fellow socialite Buhle Mkhize claimed that the post was unnecessary.
"I’ve never and will never buy or wear anything fake but we shouldn’t do this. A lot of our fellow South Africans wear these and some of them come from backgrounds that don’t even allow the opportunity to know there’s a real version," read Buhle's comment
Did Sarah just put her (designer) foot in it?
