The Miss South African organization has not taken an article published in a local paper that speculated a possible pregnancy scandal for Sasha Lee Laurel Olivier lightly. The speculated allegation made hints at the unjust issue of body shaming and hence has angered South Africans and women alike. The Miss South Africa Organization released its official statement sharing it on their Twitter platform.
While Sasha Lee Laurel Olivier has always tried to steer clear of social media controversy since assuming her role as Miss South Africa, her fans on social media are showing her love and support through this ordeal. While female related injustices have been trending on Twitter, this incident proves all the more that women are unfairly judged for literally everything. While Sasha Lee uses her Twitter platform to raise awareness to things we can possibly change like actually gaining justice for Tshego Pule and girls like her, we wish she doesn't endure any numbness from unfair accusations and speculations.
One of the top 9 finalists for Miss Universe, Siera Bearchell, shared a video in support of Sasha Lee. Clearly a woman's body should never be shunned or seen as an issue in any way. We can safely say Sasha held her head up high during the entire ordeal and her crown didn't fall off because she handled the issue so gracefully. Zozinbini Tunzi has also shown her support for Sasha who stands up for so many other women like her who have experienced the same insults. Let us buy our Miss SA a box of pizza and let all the girls in SA eat more than a slice! We, women, deserve it!
