According to Simba Mhere’s former PR team, the driver of the vehicle that collided with the car of the Top Billing presenter appeared for the first time in the Randburg Magistrates Court on 4 June. The driver, who goes by the name of Preshalin Naidoo, was charged with reckless driving and culpable homicide.
The case has since been postponed until 26 June 2015 for the purpose of providing copies of the police docket to the defence. It was further revealed that a trial date of 18 and 19 August 2015 has been agreed upon by the prosecution and defence.
Mhere and his close friend, Kady-Shay O’Brien, died on the scene during the early hours of 31 January 2015.
