Ayepyep founder and successful House DJ, DJ Sumbody left a mark in a lot of people's lives. The DJ was gunned down in the early hours of Sunday morning en route to a gig in Woodmead News Cafe. Several reports suggest that he was gunned down in a hail of bullets of about 40 something.

His team confirmed his departure and even canceled his All White Party with Veuve Clicquet which was supposed to take place on the day of his death.

"Artist and Musician DJ Sumbody has died. Details of his untimely passing cannot be released but the artist named Oupa John Sefoka allegedly ran into an unfortunate incident that led to his passing in the early hours of Sunday morning, 20 November 2022."
Somizi Mhlongo, one of his good friends said he was invited to the party and even suggested that he would advertise it for him for free. A numb and heartbroken Somizi shared his last conversation with Sumbody.

“I am numb…. I no longer know how to feel and react to the news of loss of loved ones… We definitely are living on borrowed time …. here’s a back story about how life is unpredictable, " he shared.

“So yesterday I get a text from Sumbody inviting me to his gig today…. I then offer to post for him but he just says YEP…. then I tell him to have manners which he still doesn’t get it why I say so which he decides to video call to get clarity then I tell him that he’s supposed to say pls and thanks when someone shows acts of kindness which we laugh about and at that time he was at a salon getting groomed and his last words to me were don’t forget to wear white tomorrow coz it’s gonna look like we are in heaven which obviously we didn’t think much about that statement," wrote Somizi.

"...and little did we know that today it’s gonna be exactly that LITERALLY heaven…… rest easy OUPA….. what a joker u were…… a hard worker and very humble…… ya neh,” Somizi concluded.

He then spoke about how it is a sad day for him and even paid tribute to his friend in Instagram posts.

His other good friend, Cassper Nyovest reacted to his death in not so many words. "Batho ba slege jo! Ai Mara bafethu this can’t be it.

Other Celebs have been paying tribute to Sumbody and Thuli Phongolo canceled her gigs as well.

Police are pleading with the public to assist in catching the killers.

“The police in Gauteng are searching for suspects and investigating circumstances that led to a shooting in Woodmead where two people died and one was seriously injured, in the early hours of Sunday, 20 November 2022. Information can also be given anonymously via my SAPS App,” write Yusuf Abramjee.
