Thembi Seete has joined e.tv soapie Rhythm City.
The actress and musician will play a fallen superstar named Bongi. Speaking to City Press, she said her character is someone who used to be as big as Whitney Housten and Brenda Fassie. “Someone that was just larger than life…” Bongi then lost everything.
Thembi described playing the character as challenging. “What makes it more challenging is having to see the pictures, to remember the things that I used to see, to witness when I was growing up and being part of the group Boom Shaka,” she told City Press.
She said this will not only be entertaining, but it will show those who want to be in the industry that it’s not just about the glitz and glam.
