Imagine standing helpless as you watch your house burn down. That's exactly how Muvhango star Mona Monyane felt as she stood from the sidelines in utter disbelief.

The actress shared a tragic video of her house engulfed in flames and another of it completely destroyed by the fire.

In the midst of losing her home, Mona was grateful for one thing - making it out alive.

She captioned the clip; "We watched our home burn down and all we could think was that God we all made it out alive. The devil may test you but God is greater than Any darkness.

But there was more bad news, Mona was unable to rescue her baby daughter Amani-Amaza's ashes before escaping her home

Amani tragically passed away seven days after she was born in 2017. She was Mona's second child.

To Mona, however, she took losing Amani's ashes as a sign that it was time to "let go".

Sharing a pic of her burnt out home she wrote: "Losing Amani's ashes in this fire from hell has got to be the greatest lesson of letting go I could ever have had to experience. What a humbling life this is... one thing I know more than anything though is that God and my angels are protecting me and my family at all times and for that I am forever grateful. Goodbye Amani-Amaza"

It's not clear how the fire started.

Mona has spoken candidly about a number of her life's hardships including having self-esteem issues and being bullied by fans and throughout her childhood. Mourning the death of a baby and now losing her home is really a cruel reminder of how unfair life can be.

Strength to Mona and Khulu Skenjana!
