Media personality Tumi Morake has resigned from Jacaranda FM - after spending only eight months with the station - to "pursue other ventures."
Tumi Morake expressed that the reason behind her resignation on her morning show saying her career taking a new direction.
“My performance career is taking a new direction and unfortunately radio, with the time and energy it requires at this level, it doesn’t fit into those plans. I had a great time and learnt many valuable lessons, yes, even when the pawpaw hit the fan. I wouldn’t change it for the world,” she said.
Tumi added that she hopes that she could one day find her way into radio again.
“This was not an easy decision for me at all. The timing was just not right for this relationship, it is like leaving a lover that you are still in love with. I really hope that fate will bring us back together again one day,” added Morake.
Tumi's journey on the station has not been easy though, it saw her getting slammed and accused for making racists remarks and even getting racists remarks thrown at her, but she remained strong and steadfast in her convictions. The announcement still saw some listeners being celebrating her departure...*rolls eyes*
Tumi’s official last day on air will be on the 9th of March 2018. We’ve enjoyed watching Tumi grow in radio and look forward to her next venture.
