The month of March has been filled with quite a good number of some of our beloved celebrities losing their jobs in various spaces within the entertainment industry. One such celebrity is the multi talented Tumi Voster, who was recently shown the door at Universal Music Group, where she occupied the cushy position of being a Marketing Manager.

According to Sunday Sun, the former 5FM presenter was allegedly let go due to her celebrity behaviour by new management that took over in March. The star had taken up her job at Universal after leaving 5FM in the year 2017.

The article also stated an opposing view, that Tumi was actually great at her job and worked pretty well with her team as they were deemed competent and supportive towards Tumi. Therefore the decision to terminate her fixed term contract, which ended on 28 February, allegedly baffled Tumi because she was under the impression that she was doing a great job at the company.

Over the years,  Tumi Voster has proven to be quite an ambitious young lady as she holds a Marketing Communications Degree from the University of Johannesburg.

Speaking to The Mail & Guardian, she said the following regarding her passion for marketing:“To most people I am known for my work in broadcasting, but what most people don’t know about me is that besides my love for radio and television, marketing is also a great passion. I enjoy working with brands, and I love coming up with brilliant concepts and strategies around different brands.”

In the year 2017, Tumi was awarded the Gauteng Province Premier Youth Excellence and Service Award in the Arts & Culture category, for her stellar contribution to the numerous projects that she had been involved in. Further more the media personality was inducted into the Golden Key U.J Chapter society as an honourary member, at the University of Johannesburg.

Clearly Tumi Voster is a well rounded mixture between beauty and brains. Therefore bouncing back, whether in the corporate or entertainment world, is something that we are looking forward to seeing in the future.
