Idols SA judge and media personality Somizi Mhlongo, has seemingly thrown major shade at his former bestie Unathi Nkayi.

In the season finale of Somizi’s hit reality show Living The Dream with Somizi, he hosted a traditional ceremony in Durban, and he was given a traditional Zulu “isiphandla” bracelet.

Speaking to his friends he said, “I start shooting Idols next week, I’m going to show this off (traditional bracelet).” According to Somizi, a goat bracelet signifies that he has slaughtered a goat to thank his ancestors."

Somizi's friend jokingly asked why did he fire others  and it seems he meant Unathi Nkayi and Randall. This follows after the two were recently given the boot from the singing competition.

“It was my mother, not me. It’s beyond my control. My mother told me not to fight, she will do it for me,” he said while a screenshot of an article introducing the new Idols SA judging panel was displayed on screen.

Somizi said he did not use something on them, he was just quiet. “My god said do not revenge. Do not avenge. Be quiet, I will revenge for you. They attacked me and I was quiet. One by one watch them drop like this. This time I didn’t even do anything to them,” he continued

Somizi addressed his fallout with Unathi on his reality show recently. He said he was disappointed by her actions and said he has no time to reconcile with her.

“Honestly, I was shocked, I was disappointed but it is what it is. Sometimes when people show you who they are, you leave them,” he told Vusi. “Someone that I thought we were okay with went public.”

He then added, “The devil does not want to see me prosper. This day has been a day and a half,” he added. “If I have to go work with her, in the same space with her. It’ not in my nature to say its either me or somebody else. I’m not going to take bread away from somebody who feeds her kids and family and stuff. I’m going to make sure my space and peace is protected, one. I never want to talk to her again, I never want to speak to her again.”

“I will be professional. Being professional doesn’t mean that when she says something I must agree with her… but I’m going to make it clear before I even start that this person must never even look at me,” he concluded.

Unathi encouraged her fans to stop listening to R Kelly's music following his sexual abuse charges. She was then asked how come she is still friends with the likes of Somizi, Euphonik, and DJ Fresh and he denied being friends  with them. At the time. Somizi was making headlines following physical assault allegation levelled against him by his estranged husband Mohale Motaung.
