Vinolia Mashego: Former Jam Alley Veteran TV Presenter Has Passed Away

She died in peaceful sleep at her home.

Renowned veteran TV presenter and actress Vinolia Mashego, who was well known for hosting the show Jam Alley, has died. According to Eyewitness News, the veteran presenter passed away at the age of 56, in a peaceful sleep at her home yesterday.

Many dubbed her as the Bonang Matheba of the 90s and, early 2000. Vinolia was known for her larger-than-life and flamboyant personality, she embodied the IT girl title a few years ago, whilst she was dominating the entertainment space.

She hosted numerous renowned TV shows and starred on Generations. Vinolia paved the way for many successful TV presenters, and her death has been described as a major blow to the industry.

Vinolia was currently the host of Bheka Sik’bambile on Moja Love.

Speaking to Eyewitness news her sister-in-law, Palesa Mashego said the family is devastated by the news of her passing"We are feeling very, very bad. Our hearts are really broken and her mom is hysterical."

Her untimely death has sent shock-waves to many in the country. Many celebs including the likes of Bonang Matheba, who drew a lot of inspiration from her, Boity and Andile Ncube, have paid their tributes, and messages of condolences have been pouring in, to the Mashego family.
Mashego will be laid to rest on Friday, 10 April.
