A well known actress has opened a rape case against an advocate, 14 years since the alleged incident happened in Forest Town Suburb, Johannesburg.
The former Generations and Muvhango actress's identity has been withheld from the media for legal purposes. A case of rape was opened at Rosebank Police Station in November 2019.
In a police statement seen by Sunday World, the details of the unfortunate incident reads as follows:
" On the way to home, she noticed that the advocate took the way to Rosebank,” reads the statement. She said they arrived in Forest Town suburb. the legendary thespian, who is in her late 40s, said the advocate got off and went into the house. He returned after a few minutes. He asked her to follow her back into the house because he wanted to show it to her."
"He started showing her the rooms until they ended up in the bedroom. He started to touch her and she refused. He forced her and overpowered her. He undressed her pants and panty and penetrated her vagina."
Gauteng provincial police spokesman Mavela Masondo, confirmed to Sunday World that a rape case has been opened against the advocate, however a decision whether or not to prosecute is still awaited upon the National Prosecution Authority (NPA).
