With all the attention she was receiving from the media, Zahara at some point in her career was ready to pack up head back to the Eastern Cape.
In a recent interview with Sunday World, Zahara opened up about how much she could not take the constant scrutiny from the media and wanted to see herself out of the music industry.
The thought of leaving the industry came to her back in 2014 when the award-winning singer became overwhelmed by all that was written about her.
According to the publication, Zahara had decided to call her mother and inform her that she was ready to return to the Eastern Cape and take care of the livestock at home.
I have chickens, cows and goats at home in East London. I even thought I could go back to busking on the streets. I could not take it anymore," " She said

Zahara told the publication that she just could not handle all the media attention she was receiving and was even hesitant to go out in public.
" I don't know why media was giving me so much attention. I don't know what they wanted from me because I did not do anything to anyone. At the time when I decided to go home, I didn't care. I said they can take the car and the house, I don't care," she said.
Thankfully she placed that decision in the back-burner and decided to release more music.
Her recent album, Mgodi, was certified gold after six hours of being released which goes to show that she made the right decision by not giving up on her dream.
