Millennial pink is on its way out, but it may be a long while before this new trend bumps it out

Bonang & Loot Love Probably Gave Us a Glimpse into Future Fashion Trends
We’ve previously highlighted Bonang’s embracing of the colour that’s taken fashion trends by storm this year – millennial pink – but it seems also that the Queen B has her finger firmly on the pulse, if trend reports are anything to go by.

Her flaming scarlet dress, designed by Orapeleng Modutle, fits perfectly into what is forecasted by WGSN, one of the world’s leading trend forecasters. While they are not particularly isolating red as the colour to follow from millennial pink, WGSN does report that colours with a “high chroma” are set to dominated the next few fashion seasons.

“High chroma” is a reference to the purity or intensity of a colour. They thus see blue, and probably purple as being the main colours, but that does not discount other bright, primary colours from that equation. That said, Loot Love’s purple SAMA after-party number is also not far from what is being forecasted, as is her co-host DJ Speedsta’s orange ensemble.

Basically, pink was just the beginning of a few seasons of intense colour. We are definitely looking forward to all the brightness. Maybe the whole colour blocking thing will come back into style. Who knows?
