Some suggestions for your next manicure.

It’s easy to stick to the acrylic and shapes you know, but why not take the chance to get out of your comfort zones and test drive new nail art trends, even if it’s just for a week or two, as seen on a few faves...

Au Natural

There's nothing wrong with being a girl who likes to keep her hands simple. Sho Madjozi is known for her bold style... everywhere but her nails. But just because it's not a tip doesn't mean that there isn't a manicure needed. Keep your natural nails healthy and your cuticles tamed with a regular buff and shine.

Mix and Match

Have you ever been at your Nail Girl's spot, looked at all the colours on the shelf and just couldn't decide what to get? Well don't worry, babes. This trend is for you. Basically, you get 3 or 4 colours you like and make each (or every 3rd) fingernail a different colour. But, there's a thin line between fun and just childish. Be smart, like Khanyi Mbau, and pick colours that compliment each other and your skin tone.

Short and Sweet

For those who actually use your hands often, then the long tips are just so inconvenient. But that doesn't mean you have to go bare. Get yourself a good gel polish in your favourite colour instead. Keep your nails short and cute so nothing gets between you and your daily tasks. We're sure keeping her nails short helps Lorna Maseko around in the kitchen.

Clear Kill

This style is basically the upgraded french tip. The idea is for the nails to be kind of clear but also kind of pink, just like the top half of a french tip, but for the entire nail. They look especially hot when they're in a long stiletto or oval shape, because drama. Boity clearly knows what we mean.

Touch of Sparkle

This style is for the girls who have ran out of colours on the rack. Try the all over glitter glitter trend in a silver or rose gold. There's a lot of ways to bedazzle your nails so make sure your nail tech knows exactly which kind of sparkle you're looking for. We like the practical subtle glitter nails, like these on Nadia Nakai, that aren't too in your face but still grab your attention.
