Whoa! Before you get your knickers in a knot...

No one is saying she is the new Aaliyah! K? We're cool? Alright, then. Let's move on. Thabsie, who featured in Kwesta's mega hit "Ngiyaz'fela Ngawe", is embarking on a career set to change the South African R&B landscape, as she recently told GQ.co.za, where she also points to the likes of Brandy and Aaliyah as her inspiration. Β It's hard to miss, the Aaliyah influence, especially in as far as her sense of style is concerned (it's in the music, too. Have you heard her new single "Cry").

I didn't get closure, just got exposure to who you have been all along... #CRY #linkinbio

The sporty aesthetic that permeates her style sensibility is what many would remember as the late R&B star Aaliyah's signature, only Aaliyah would of course pair her crops mostly with baggy jeans, and a tomboyish swagger. We love that Thabsie puts her own spin on it, and never looks like she's trying too hard.Β

She is so far displaying a knack for effortless style, but such doesn't always translate into red carpet perfection, but whatevs! We love how she looks, and she's just as dope on the mic!
