The Guys Were There Too!

The best dressed guys at the SAFTAs

You know, it's unfair but, red carpets are usually about the women. Their gowns, hair and makeup overshadow the usually more paired down looks of their male colleagues. But lately, men have been having a lot more fun with fashion on the red carpet - it's not all boring black tuxedos anymore.

We were LIVE from the Red Carpet at this year's South African Film and Television Awards and we got to see the nation's heartthrobs put their best fashion foot forward. Here are our picks for Best Dressed...

Believe it or not, this is Somizi turning it down a notch. Way down. But still a fashionable ensemble, as you would expect from him. He chose this all over flower print shirt, pants and matching wide brim hat for his evening on the clock interviewing celebrities and politicians on the red carpet.

Hlomla Dandala

The River's leading man came in style to collect the hit show's incredible 11 awards! Hlomla went for an emerald green classic suit with matching tie and pocket square. Simple, sleek and sophisticated without being boring. We love this colour on him too!

Khaya Dladla

The fans love him and so do we! Khaya went for a matching embellished navy blazer and shorts, an usual but understandable choice considering the Sun City heat. We love how he keeps experimenting with his style each time. But those glittery ankle boots were definitely made for walking on a red carpet!

Warren Masemola

The Tjovitjo star walked the red carpet with his lovely wife this year. If anyone knows Warren, we know he loves to find the fun in any situation - including fashion. Every year he wears a different hat, the more unexpected the better. Last year it was a beret. This year it was a black turban paired with a simple black shirt and waistcoat.
