#ZAlebsBeauty - How to apply false lashes

Following last week’s Sorbet Beauty make up launch, my colleague Joy Mphande decided to treat herself to a set of false lashes. She had one problem though… She has no idea how to apply them by herself.

So I went in search of the best tutorials that will hopefully help Joy and the rest of the ZAlebs community figure out the best way to apply false lashes.

Types of false lashes

American website falseeyelashes.com distinguishes between four of the most popular types and they are listed as follows:

1. Natural Lashes: these appear fine and subtle and are reportedly very delicate so they should be handled with care. Their appearance allegedly makes them look as real as possible

2. Full Volume lashes: these are perfect for the women who love drama with their look. These are a favourite for stage actors, TV presenters, actors and for use at photo shoots as they are fuller and appear better on camera

3. Long and short lashes: these have a bold pattern of long and short lashes, placed alternatively to each other and sometimes, the long and short strands cross over each other.

4. Individual lashes: these appear as a few strands attached together at a node. Depending on how well they are applied, like the natural lashes, these also appear more natural. Their application can be quite time-consuming though. These are also the best as you can apply them only in the places where you feel you need them and not along the entire eye.
