Afrinvest to Gift Tickets and Jerseys as Rangers Chase NPFL Finale Glory

Sports

With Sunday’s last-day clash looming in the Nigeria Premier Football League, investment banking firm Afrinvest West Africa has rolled out a major fan-engagement push aimed at powering Rangers International FC toward the finish line.

Quick facts

  • Afrinvest West Africa is offering 300 match tickets, 200 jerseys, and branded gift items to boost support for league leaders Rangers International FC.
  • Rangers face Lagos-based Ikorodu City FC on Sunday, May 24, 2026, with kick-off set for 4:00 p.m.
  • The match is at the 10,000-capacity Mobolaji Johnson Arena on Lagos Island.
  • Fans must pre-register through a dedicated online portal to be eligible for the promotional package.
  • Afrinvest is the official shirt sponsor of Rangers.

Dubbed the “Flying Antelopes,” Rangers are set to take on Ikorodu City FC at Mobolaji Johnson Arena, a 10,000-seat venue on Lagos Island. The game is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on May 24, 2026, in what promises to be a decisive end-of-season encounter.

The initiative was unveiled on Monday, with Afrinvest confirming that supporters who want to benefit from the ticket, jersey and gifts package must complete pre-registration via a dedicated digital platform. The promotion is intended to ensure the club’s travelling support is loud, visible and well catered for.

Tickets, jerseys and early-arrival gifts

In explaining the plan, Mr. Ike Chioke, Group Managing Director of Afrinvest, said the distribution includes 300 tickets and 200 jerseys, alongside special gift items for the first 100 Rangers supporters who arrive at the stadium on match day. He added that fans only need to register using the link provided by Afrinvest and turn up at least one hour before kick-off.

Chioke also called on supporters from Nigeria’s south-west region to turn out in numbers, stressing the club’s rich history and the legacy of Nigerian football greats who once rose through Rangers’ ranks. He specifically referenced Emmanuel Okala, Christian Chukwu, Adokiye Amiesimaka, Aloysius Atuegbu, Austin “Jay-Jay” Okocha, John Utaka, and Onyekachi Apam.

The contest is loaded with implications for the final 2025/26 NPFL standings. Rangers head into the day top of the table on 65 points from 37 matches, separated from Rivers United by a slim margin.

If Rangers win on Lagos turf on Sunday, they will seal a record-extending ninth national league title even if other results do not go their way—an outcome that would make the match their clearest path to crown number nine.

Beyond domestic glory, the club has already secured qualification for the CAF Champions League. The team’s continental return marks their second appearance since obtaining corporate backing, a shift the club and its partners have framed as a springboard for sustained resurgence.

Partnership behind the turnaround

Afrinvest said it deepened its involvement with the Enugu-based side in October 2023 by signing a comprehensive three-year partnership arrangement. The agreement was designed to tackle persistent administrative challenges, strengthen medical frameworks, and improve player welfare—areas the club had identified as key hurdles.

That investment produced rapid dividends, with Rangers winning the 2023/24 league title in the same season the partnership was put in motion. Monday’s confirmation from corporate executives reinforced that the financial institution intends to continue funding both the domestic campaign and the upcoming continental programme.

For Rangers, the message ahead of Sunday is clear: with the league title within reach, Afrinvest’s promotional push is meant to turn the occasion at Mobolaji Johnson Arena into a statement of support—on and off the pitch.
