Barcelona have moved to the front of the queue in this transfer window by completing the signing of Anthony Gordon from Newcastle for a fee reported to be €80 million.
The deal was confirmed via transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano on his official X account, where he posted: “Anthony Gordon to Barcelona — here we go! Official bid accepted now by Newcastle board and Saudi owners.”
Romano added that the agreement includes a €70 million fixed payment plus additional add-ons, which together are expected to lift the total package beyond €80 million for Newcastle United.
Gordon is scheduled to travel the following day to Barcelona, with medical examinations and the finalisation of his contract set to take place tomorrow.
