Wikki Spikers head coach Monday Dada credited his team’s 3-1 triumph over Kada Kings to consistent effort, strong discipline, and a strict commitment to the tactical plan as the 2026 National Division One and Two Volleyball League continues in Abuja.
Victory built on work, discipline and tactics
After the match in Abuja, Dada highlighted that the win came from his players carrying out the strategy against a side he described as one of the competition’s more seasoned teams.
“It is nothing but hard work. We worked for it and we had a game plan which we stuck to. Our game plan worked for us,” Dada said. “It was really difficult but we thank God we did it in style.”
Scoreline boosts Wikki Spikers’ promotion push
The Bauchi-based outfit secured the result 3-1, with set scores of 25-16, 25-18, 17-25 and 25-21. The win strengthens their bid for promotion to the CGC Volleyball Premier League.
Promotion focus and mindset for players
Dada also used the occasion to urge his squad to view every fixture as a chance to move their careers forward beyond representing their state team.
- He told the players that after playing for Bauchi State, they must also look out for their own long-term progress.
- Dada said they need to perform at a high level so that larger clubs can take notice.
- He added that his goal is for the team’s development to translate into advancement opportunities.
“After playing for Bauchi State, you have to play for yourselves. You have to be exceptional so that another bigger team can notice you. My dream for my players is for them to make progress,” he said.
Looking ahead, the coach stressed that Wikki Spikers will keep their focus on taking matches one by one as they chase a Premier League return.
- Dada said the team is doing its best to qualify for the CGC Premier League.
- He emphasized a game-by-game approach, adding that they want to reach the top tier “by God’s grace.”
