Galatasaray’s president, Dursun Özbek, has moved to cool speculation surrounding Victor Osimhen’s summer plans, stressing that the club has no plans to part ways with the Nigerian forward in the upcoming transfer window.
Speaking on HT Spor during a live broadcast, Özbek rejected the idea of a possible move away and reaffirmed Galatasaray’s intention to keep hold of the striker.
“We are not thinking about selling Victor Osimhen. Setting a fee for a player we have no intention of transferring is like dressing up a footballer who hasn’t even been born yet,” Özbek said.
Özbek also highlighted Osimhen’s influence since joining the club, suggesting the attacker is already evolving into a central figure for a fresh wave of Galatasaray supporters.
“Osimhen is creating the second generation of Galatasaray fans,” he added.
Osimhen made the switch to Galatasaray on a permanent basis from Napoli in the summer of 2025, following a fruitful loan spell with the Istanbul club, where he played a major role in delivering a domestic double.
The Super Eagles forward has continued to shine in the current season, driving Galatasaray’s push to defend the Turkish league crown and also helping the team reach the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League.
Across all competitions, he produced yet another standout run, scoring 22 goals and providing eight assists in 33 appearances.
His steady output has reportedly sparked interest from a number of leading European sides, including Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona.
